Arugam Bay is a small town on the east coast of Sri Lanka. Thus, it has been able to retain its small town attraction, gaining popularity among tourists looking to explore some of Sri Lanka's unsuitable destinations. It is a popular surfing destination, but there is much more to do at Arugam Bay. Located locally known as "Arugam Kuda", Arugam Bay is located in the Indian Ocean off the dry southeast coast of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean and is a historic settlement in ancient Batticaloa.

Kumana National Park Safari

Kumana National Park is a beautiful place that is a hidden joy in Sri Lanka. It is a very special place with wildlife and fascinating views. This 357 sq km park is less frequently visited than its busy neighbor Yala National Park. As a result, it's nowhere near as crowded, and much less than an experience like a zoo.

Visit Elephant Rock


If you're looking for a few places to visit Arugam Bay, Elephant Rock should be at the top of your list. It is a rock located on the left side of the bay and offers incredible views once climbed. Tuk-tuk is recommended as it is difficult to find the rock if you are traveling alone. They will take you as far as you can and advise you from there. Expect a slight rise, but the rewards are well worth it.

Lagoon Safari


Pottuvil Lagoon can be found near Arugam Bay. Various reptiles, birds and mammals such as elephants inhabit the lagoon and its environs. The lagoon is covered with mangroves. A trip on one of the many boats that sail through the water is a very peaceful experience. However, the most common animals you can see here are crocodiles, lizards, peacocks and monkeys. You can take a boat trip across the lagoon. Many hotels in Arugam Bay offer a tour to get there and get a boat.
